In an ideal world, at 11:11pm. When there is time and it does not slip between fingers - A reality grounded in ease. It saddens me that we’ve forgotten to amaze ourselves with even the simplest of things - skyscrapers and peculiar points in once day.
The untimely hiatus needs no reasoning. With 20 tracks; in order of progression of how summer days should be spent, this should be enough for now. Great things a-coming. We’ll see you folks soon.
Oddly enough, I woke up today without asking for a 10-minute grace period that I usually indulge in for at least half an hour only to wake to, well, nothing really. And officially the week starts (not that it ever really ended). To the tune of Bell XI, Two Door Cinema Club and some other pretty great tracks. Enjoy.
It’s unfortunate that even as music seems to dynamically move forward, the innovations and styles still fall on deaf ears. The primeval way of appreciating a beat or tune and bopping your head has turned into requests of what is new and what has a name.
Clearly consumerist and capitalist in nature, there is more to music than Ke$ha, Bieber and Usher. Not that we don’t like their music but just a friendly reminder DJs aren’t IPods. There is artistry in manipulating the ones and twos and sometimes even threes. And when you keep nagging a DJ to keep on playing what you want to hear without leaving him that space to get through between songs, it would be much more appreciated if you just put on your headphones and dance to whatever you want.
With that out of the way, here’s Breakbot. IMHO, the best fucking DJ ever. Check him out.
